Elk County commissioners approve pay change, rehire and accept development director’s resignation

The Elk County Board of Commissioners approved multiple personnel actions following executive sessions on Nov. 25, 2024. Commissioner Doug Hendricks moved “to move Joe Mueller from full-time $13.54hr to part-time $17.00hr starting December 8, 2024,” a motion seconded by Commissioner Perry Russell and adopted by the board. The county later rehired Jessica Kessler in the Treasurer’s Office at $15.00 per hour.
Commissioners also accepted Community Development Director Shari Kaminska’s letter of resignation, effective with the conclusion of the December 2024 payroll period. County Counselor Paul Dean was present for the executive sessions and the board recorded no further staffing directives in the minutes.
