Elk County emergency management credits regional exercise, OKs jetpack router purchase

Emergency Management Director Erica Cordell told the board that participation in a regional tabletop exercise on water shortage in Chanute and attendance at coalition meetings will count toward the county's Emergency Management Preparedness Grant requirements for 2024.
Cordell also asked to purchase a Verizon jetpack wireless router and to add $40.00 per month to her cell phone line so she can work remotely during incident call-outs. The commission agreed to the purchase during the Nov. 12 meeting.
Cordell reported that all sirens passed a November 12 test and reminded commissioners of an Integrated Preparedness Planning Workshop scheduled for Thursday at 6:30 p.m. at the Cox Building.
