Darin Myers presented an update on ISO property protection classifications based on a 2025 assessment. Myers said the most significant rating improvements occurred in Catherine, Munjor and Schoenchen where ISO ratings were lowered significantly.
Myers explained ISO evaluations consider response to structure fires, equipment and water supply, and dispatch operations. He provided operational metrics, saying the county fire department's average arrival time on scene is about nine minutes and average on-scene response time is about two minutes.
The classification changes could affect insurance ratings for properties in the named communities; Myers characterized the report as an operational improvement and scheduled no immediate action items tied to the assessment.
