"We saved the town almost $50,000 from the YMCA contract when the town took over the town beach last year," Chelsea said, adding that concession changes and a new vendor are expected this season. She also noted Allen Harbor enterprise finances are stable and that mooring and slip waitlists remain long, while the golf course reported about 52,000 rounds last year and will add a cart barn able to support future electric charging.
Councilors asked about seasonal staffing pressures driven by minimum‑wage increases and rising competition for summer employees; Chelsea said the department is prioritizing pay competitiveness and grant funding to stretch budgets.
