Board approves new Deputy Superintendent job description and appoints Thorsten Wallen Harrison

Staff said the change reflects growth and the need for broader leadership capacity in a rapidly expanding district. After the vote, Harrison thanked the board and briefly addressed trustees: "I've really enjoyed the last 7 years working here. It's an honor working here with such talented people," he said. Trustees and the presiding officer praised his service and leadership before the meeting moved on to the next agenda item.
The motion to approve the job description and salary and to appoint Harrison passed on a board vote of 5-0 with a student trustee preferential vote recorded.
