After executive session, court rejects barn bid and approves consent agenda items

The Commissioners entered executive session at 9:40 a.m. under Texas Government Code Sections 551.071 (consultation with attorney) and 551.072 (real-property deliberation) and reconvened in open session at 10:34 a.m. After reconvening, Commissioner John "Biff" Hayes moved to reject an offer for the Precinct No. 1 barn because the bid did not meet the property’s intended use; the motion was seconded and unanimously adopted. Judge Clark said the sale will be reevaluated and the Court will continue exploring development or sale opportunities.
Earlier in the meeting the Court approved its consent agenda, including minutes (May 26 and June 8), department head reports, budget amendments, claims and payroll, utility permit conditions, and several interlocal agreements and renewals. The Court also noted receipt of the Wise County Appraisal District audit and announced the courthouse closure for July 3, 2026 and the next regular meeting on July 13, 2026.
