Commissioners schedule public hearing on lowering speed limits near Paradise High School

Commissioner Colby Shawn told the court that portions of CR 3355 (Olde Towne Road) and Schoolhouse Road have transformed from rural roads to residential streets with many driveways and a newly constructed high school, and requested lowering the posted speed limits from 40 mph to 30 mph in targeted segments.
Shawn identified the Olde Towne Road segment between addresses 630 and 936 and a stretch of Schoolhouse Road from address 675 north to the Paradise city limits. County Engineer Chad Davis concurred with the recommendation and Judge J.D. Clark instructed Court Attorney Thomas Aaberg to handle required public-notice publication and posting. The Court set a public hearing on the proposed changes for Monday, July 13 at 8:45 a.m.
The hearing will allow residents and interested parties to comment on safety and traffic-engineering details before any regulatory change is adopted.
