Srader told the court a second count confirmed 101 valid signatures, exceeding the required 100; she said the signatures rejected in the review lacked dates, voter registration verification, or property ownership verification. Chief Deputy Amanda Knox assisted with the count and Srader said she will provide a large map and letters from municipalities within the proposed district before the hearing. The petition proceeding was taken pursuant to Sec. 775.015(b) of the Texas Health and Safety Code.
County Judge J.D. Clark noted Fire Chief Jerry Taylor was present at the meeting and would be available to answer questions at the hearing. The Court’s action is administrative: it set the date and directed staff to run all required legal notices for the July 27 hearing.
