Ward County Commissioners' Court unanimously adopted a set of emergency budget amendments during its Oct. 27, 2025 meeting in Monahans, citing “an emergency has arisen and a grave public necessity exists.” The motion to approve the county-wide amendments was moved by Commissioner Larry Hanna and seconded by Commissioner Guy Thames.
The amendments reallocated multiple line items within the General Fund, including a $15,000 increase to Courthouse maintenance/software and a $20,000 increase to Indigent Legal Care. The hospital-related transfers include a $50,000 allocation to Ward Memorial and net General Fund decrease of $2,300; the Road & Bridge Fund shows offsetting changes that increase its expense total by $2,300. Emergency Medical Services line items were adjusted without net change. The court adopted the package as presented and recorded the action as unanimously approved.
