County advances Bridge 164 design, approves inspection contract and authorizes Wabash Road bidding amid $741,600 structure estimate

Because the county was not selected for a $1.5 million CCMG grant, commissioners discussed possible funding sources: $979,260 in ARP funds currently allocated to a Comcast broadband project (staff will inquire whether Comcast is meeting contract terms and whether funds could be reallocated with state approval), approximately $500,000 in the Restricted Road Project Fund, and wheel‑tax funds that may require an additional appropriation. The commissioners authorized moving forward with the bidding process for the Wabash Road project by a 3-0 vote.
