Springfield Clark CTC honored; state to co-fund larger facility that will double capacity

The Board of Clark County Commissioners presented a proclamation recognizing Springfield Clark Career Technology Center (CTC) during its Feb. 11 meeting in Springfield.
Michelle Patrick, superintendent for Springfield Clark CTC, told the commissioners the district earned a five-out-of-five-star rating for the second consecutive year and that the Ohio Facilities Construction Commission will now co-fund the entire 227,000-square-foot new building project, which was originally planned at 178,000 square feet. She introduced students from Northwestern, Tecumseh, Springfield and Greenon high schools, who described their program accomplishments and post‑graduation plans.
Commissioner Charles A. Patterson asked how many additional students the expanded facility would allow. "An additional 1,009 students per year for a total of 2,018," Ms. Patrick responded. Commissioner Richard L. Lohnes referenced packet data on student earnings, citing example figures included in the meeting materials.
Commission President Sasha L. Rittenhouse thanked the students and commissioners presented the proclamation to Springfield Clark CTC. The commissioners and administrative staff noted the regional impact of CTC enrollment and the value of showcasing student work to the community.
