Tioga County to fund CADlink for 16 fire departments to receive 911 data

The Tioga County Board of Commissioners voted Nov. 18 to provide one-time funding of $500 to each of the county’s 16 volunteer fire departments to purchase CADlink, a data interface required for receiving 911 center data after the State Fire Commissioner’s Office replaced the previous reporting system. The total first-year cost to the county is $8,000, and the board said it would consider covering up to 50% of year-two costs before departments assume full responsibility.
Commissioner Shane Nickerson moved the funding allocation and Commissioner Sam VanLoon seconded; the motion carried unanimously. Minutes note the expenditure will be paid from Act 13 funds.
