Staff to seek solution for permit and Certificate of Occupancy on mobile-home lot held for sidewalks

Mr. Eric Hudson, Parish Engineer, told the committee he will meet with Parish Administrator Dr. Ken Ward and Parish Attorney Patrick Jackson to determine whether there is a path to move forward with issuance of the building permit and Certificate of Occupancy for the lot now on hold because sidewalks are not installed. He said he will "schedule a meeting with Dr. Ward and Mr. Jackson to develop a potential solution for the lot discussed today to bring back to the police jury for approval."
Dr. Ward said site work is progressing and he "believes driveways will be installed by the end of the month," but noted the Code requires both sidewalks and a driveway before a Certificate of Occupancy can be issued. Mr. Hudson reiterated he does not have authority to accept a Letter of Intent in place of completed sidewalks and that any deviation from code must be authorized by the governing body. The committee directed staff to pursue options and provide updates to the Police Jury.
