Troup County commissioners on Tuesday adopted a resolution formally accepting a $350,000 Georgia Land and Water Conservation Fund (LWCF) grant to build a new playground at the Whitesville Road Soccer Complex. County Manager Moseley said the total project budget is $700,000, with the grant covering half and a $350,000 match drawn from SPLOST 5.
"The grant would be used to fund a new playground at the new Whitesville Road Soccer Complex," Moseley told the board, adding that funds for the local match are available in the SPLOST 5 fund. Commissioners voted to adopt and certify the resolution without objection. Moseley said county staff had already met with Georgia DNR staff to finalize the resolution language and that the board would formally accept the LWCF award at Tuesday's meeting.
