Iron County’s Board of Supervisors approved Resolution 2026‑4056 to adopt the 2026–2030 Iron County Outdoor Recreation Plan. The minutes state the recreation industry is the county’s second‑largest industry behind forest products and that maintaining a current five‑year plan is required under Wisconsin Statute 23.30 and by the Wisconsin Statewide Comprehensive Outdoor Recreation Plan (SCORP).
Supervisor Thomas moved for adoption and Supervisor Mullard seconded; the board voted unanimously to approve the plan. The resolution notes the plan was developed with input from local cities, towns, clubs, organizations and individual public comments and authorizes use of the plan in applications for state and federal outdoor recreation grants.
