Commissioners deny Walton Georgia’s request to extend Madison Lakes development agreement

Sean Knudsen submitted a request on behalf of Walton Georgia, LLC to extend the Madison Lakes Development Agreement through Aug. 5, 2026. The extension was described as allowing additional time to review proposed amendments and potential community benefits including road improvements, golf course restoration, HOA involvement, architectural standards, stormwater repairs and sewer considerations.
After discussion, Commissioner Philipp von Hanstein moved and Commissioner Nathan Park seconded a motion to deny the extension request; the Board denied Walton Georgia’s request unanimously.
