Fire Chief Garrett Smith asked the Board to approve bids to repair the county radio system and to construct a new live fire training structure at Fire Station 10. The Board approved a $130,205 contract with Augusta Communications for radio‑system repairs, funded with SPLOST.
Chief Smith also presented four bids for the proposed live fire training structure and related sitework; the Board approved SPLOST funding totaling $339,450 (about $289,000 for the structure and $50,450 to Walters Grading and Hauling for sitework and footings).
