Morgan County adopts 90-day moratorium on PUD and MXD-3 development applications

The Morgan County Board of Commissioners voted unanimously April 7 to adopt an emergency 90‑day moratorium on accepting, approving or issuing permits for Planned Unit Developments as defined on Jan. 1, 1999, and for Community Mixed Use (MXD‑3) zoning under the current ordinance. County Attorney Patrick Jaugstetter presented the resolution and said public notices will be published and a public hearing scheduled.
Commissioners said the temporary pause is intended to allow staff and the Board to review ordinance language and subdivision rules before new applications are accepted. The resolution, adopted with no recorded opposition, bars the county from issuing development-plan approvals, preliminary or final site approvals, land‑disturbance permits, building permits or other development entitlements for the specified zoning areas during the moratorium. The Board directed staff to prepare the public‑hearing materials and notices.
