Planner Cottrell presented REZ26-0272, a county-initiated rezoning request to change 4.11 acres at 9434 and 9410 Singers Glen Road from A-2 (General Agricultural) to RV (Rural Village) to allow construction of a new Singers Glen Community Center.
Chair Leila C. Longcor opened the public hearing. Kim Sandum spoke in support, telling the Board that Rural Village was the correct zoning for the property and asking whether lighted electronic message signs would be prohibited; Deputy County Administrator Dwayne L. Martin clarified that signage concerns are addressed through a future special‑use permit process rather than the rezoning. The Board approved the rezoning on a motion by Supervisor Sallie Wolfe‑Garrison, seconded by Supervisor Joel L. Hensley; the vote was 5 to 0.
The minutes record the property tax map numbers (Tax Map #62‑A‑65 and 62‑A‑65A) and the Board's action to rezone the parcels to RV in Election District 2.
