The Board on May 27 approved a supplemental appropriation of $12,088,939.25 to fund the McGaheysville Elementary School renovation project. The County issued debt through the Virginia Public School Authority (VPSA) in the amount of $12,004,376.63, with issuance costs of $84,562.62. The appropriation will transfer proceeds to the School Capital Projects Fund to pay project costs.
Deputy County Administrator Patricia D. Davidson presented the appropriation and staff noted the Board previously authorized debt issuance not to exceed $12,600,000 on March 25, 2026; the VPSA issuance was for $12,004,376.63. The vote to approve the supplemental appropriation was unanimous, 5 to 0.
