Bossier Parish Library Director Felesha M. Sweeney asked that a letter be read to jurors because she could not attend the June 3 meeting. In the letter she reflected on her three years as director and thanked jurors for their support: "Thank you for the opportunity to serve as Director of Libraries for Bossier Parish. Thank you for your continued support. This has truly been an enriching experience." Doug Rimmer is recorded as having replied to an earlier comment, saying, "Sink or swim," when recalling a question Sweeney raised on who would teach her how to do the job.
Dr. Ken Ward read the letter and jurors received it as part of administrative announcements; the minutes note this is Sweeney's last meeting before stepping away and that a proclamation for the parish time capsule will be considered at the June 17 meeting.
