Police Jury adopts ordinance lowering speed limit on segment of Parks Road to 25 mph

The Bossier Parish Police Jury on June 3 adopted Ordinance No. 5116, making it unlawful to drive in excess of 25 miles per hour on a 0.65-mile section of Parks Road that remained following the Parks Road Relocation Project No. 2012-356. The ordinance was offered by Juror Philip Rodgers, seconded by Juror Chris Marsiglia, and was adopted unanimously.
The change follows an evaluation requested by Juror Philip Rodgers and conducted by Assistant Parish Engineer Matt Redmon. Ashley Ezell announced the public hearing on the proposed reduction and Eric Hudson presented an aerial of the affected portion of Parks Road. The ordinance text amends Ordinance No. 4337 and states the reduced limit is effective upon adoption.
