The St. Helena Parish Police Jury acknowledged receipt of a letter of resignation from Mr. Leslie Akins from his position as Mechanic, effective February 12, 2025. The acknowledgment was recorded during the Feb. 11, 2025 regular session; the minutes do not indicate whether a replacement was discussed at that time.
Separately, jurors approved hiring Alvin Amacker as Operator/Laborer for Road District #3 at an hourly rate of $13.50. The motion to appoint Amacker was made by Mr. Willie Morgan and seconded by Mr. Jule C. Wascom; approval was contingent upon successful completion of a drug screening, a physical examination, and possession of a valid driver’s license.
