Jury approves $36 EMS user fee despite public call to consider exemptions

John Ed Jorden offered the motion and Julian Darby seconded. During public comment, Jeff Sadow told jurors the fee raises about $950,000 annually and said "in 2024, there was a surplus of $780,000.00 added to the reserve of $7,000,000.00"; he suggested the jury consider exempting residents who live inside municipalities that already fund EMS through utility bills. The jury proceeded to adopt the ordinance with recorded unanimous support and one member absent.
