Bossier Parish Police Jury adopts 2026 property tax millage rates

The Bossier Parish Police Jury on May 20 adopted Ordinance No. 5112 establishing the parish’s 2026 property tax millage rates.
Ashley Ezell, parish secretary, opened the public meeting on the millages; on motion by Philip Rodgers and second by Pam Glorioso the jury approved rates for the General Alimony Tax, Highway Tax, Library Tax, Health Unit Tax and Corrections Facilities Tax. The ordinance lists specific millage rates (for example, Library Tax at 5.24 mills and Corrections Facilities Tax at 3.02 mills) for properties inside and outside Bossier City.
The motion carried with recorded votes in favor by Lynn Beaty, Glenn Benton, Jimmy Cochran, Julian Darby, Pam Glorioso, John Ed Jorden, Julianna Parks, Doug Rimmer, Philip Rodgers, Tom Salzer and Keith Sutton; Chris Marsiglia was absent. The adoption instructs the assessor and ex‑officio tax collector to extend and collect the levies as provided by law.
