The St. Helena Parish Police Jury voted unanimously on Feb. 11, 2025, to authorize President Ryan Byrd to sign Local Government Assurances (LGA) for both the Local Government Assistance Program (LGAP) and the Community Water Enrichment Fund (CWEF). The motion to permit the President to sign the LGAs was made by Mr. Jule C. Wascom and seconded by Mr. Warren McCray, Jr., and carried by the jurors present.
The jury also adopted a resolution to submit an application for the CWEF grant for fiscal year 2024–25 and approved a separate resolution to apply for LGAP funding for FY 2024–2025 to be used specifically "for the purpose of renovations to essential parish buildings." The LGAP resolution includes a directive to solicit legislative support letters as part of the application package. Both resolutions passed unanimously. The actions followed a brief staff/clerical update included earlier in the meeting.
