At its March 9 meeting, the Charlotte County Planning and Zoning Board took three formal actions and forwarded each to the Board of County Commissioners with recommendations of approval.
• VST-25-06 — Street vacation requested by 1 2 3 Cape Investments LLC to vacate a 15-foot unconstructed alley between Cardiff Street and Flamingo. Motion: forward to BCC with recommendation of approval (staff memo dated 03/09/2025). Vote: unanimous.
• PAS-25-02 — Small-scale plan amendment for 5905 Duncan Road (change roughly 12.85 acres to Commercial). Motion: forward to BCC with recommendation of approval (staff report dated 02/28/2026). Vote: unanimous.
• PD-25-14 — Planned Development rezoning for 5905 Duncan Road with conditions a–m to limit intensity (FAR 0.375), cap Lot 4 uses to hotel (max 125 rooms) or indoor storage (max 140,000 sq ft), require enhanced buffers, and protect approximately 1.91 acres of on-site wetland. Motion: forward to BCC with recommendation of approval with conditions. Vote: unanimous.
All three items will be considered by the Board of County Commissioners at forthcoming hearings; the small-scale plan amendment and the PD rezoning were noted as having a BCC adoption hearing scheduled for April 28.
