District rolls out new LCAP infographic showing AP pass rates, enrollment and attendance trends

Trustees asked for clearer explanations for parents on how percentages are computed (for example, the difference between the percent of students enrolled in AP courses and the percent of those enrolled who scored a 3 or higher). Sharp explained the online dashboard will retain hover call‑out boxes and staff will review whether to add explicit text explaining the enrollment vs. pass‑rate relationship. Trustees also asked about public access to raw counts; Sharp said the infographic does not currently expose raw N counts and that some underlying data (internal assessments such as DRA) are district internal. "We don't currently offer the raw data for number of students in this document," Sharp said.
The board noted attendance improvements (an increase reported as 1.2%) and declines in chronic absenteeism (down 2%) and discussed clarifying presentation of PSAT participation for sophomores and juniors. Members praised the dashboard as a public‑facing resource and requested small edits to label formatting and callout text to improve accessibility for parents.
