Board OKs leadership training contract for district managers

The board approved a contract with the National Center for Executive Leadership to provide multi-year leadership training for mid-level managers, site administrators and department leads; staff said over 50 district leaders will be included.
District staff said the National Center for Executive Leadership has provided multi-year training and that the new agreement will extend team-based leadership development for principals, assistant principals, department leads and other mid-level managers. The contract is intended to create consistency in leadership language, data use and approaches to difficult conversations.
"For the last three years, we've been embarked on a long-term professional development training for our mid-level managers," Dr. Nicholas said, noting the goal is to align leadership practices across site and district teams. The board approved the agreement unanimously.
