Staff named winners including Melanie Basara (1st place youth or adult category), Alex Honeycutt, Cody Krieger and Juan Rodriguez among others; staff said the contest had strong community participation across categories and judged entries anonymously. Library staff also outlined programs to mark Women's Equality Day on Aug. 26, including a screening of the documentary "Fly With Me" and a curated book display throughout August.
City staff said the contest helps showcase local landmarks and community life and invited the public to view winning photos at the library. Library specialist Alina Manion encouraged residents to check the library catalog for special lists and displays commemorating women's history and civic participation.
