Lammersville students outpace county and state on 2024 CAASPP, district says

Assistant Superintendent Sharp presented the Lammersville Joint Unified School District's 2024 CAASPP highlights, telling the governing board that the district "far exceeds state and county proficiency in English language arts, math, and science." Sharp said several sites showed year-to-year growth and that Cordes recorded a 14% gain in science.
Superintendent Dr. Nicholas framed the tests as a summative snapshot and urged context: "The CAASPP is a moment in time," he said, noting the district has long aimed to support the 20% of students not yet proficient through LCAP goals. Trustees asked about a less-than-1% dip in math; district staff attributed that to implementation gaps with a new math intervention and said they are increasing professional development to improve fidelity. Sharp also highlighted subgroup progress: Black/African American, Hispanic and socioeconomically disadvantaged students showed year-to-year growth while English learners and students with disabilities remain focus areas for additional supports.
