Vian Board adopts majority of 25–26 policies, declines new AI and Criminal Records policies

During its Aug. 11 meeting the Vian Board considered a set of policies and procedures for the 2025–26 school year. The policy list in the minutes includes Abuse/Neglect, Board Meetings, Certified Leave, Discrimination, Including Students, Length of School Year, Open Records, Personal Wireless, Pregnant Workers, Strong Readers, Student Behavior, Student Transfers, Support Leave, Suspension and Dismissal, and Title IX among others. The minutes state that the board moved not to adopt AI and Criminal Records policies and to keep last year’s Title IX policy; all other listed policies were adopted.
The motion appears as moved by Cotner and seconded by Ford, and the vote is recorded as unanimous. The minutes do not contain the full text of any policy changes or indicate whether adopted policies are new drafts or continuations of existing language.
