City posts TNVR information page to help residents manage community cats

City Administrator David Bunker told the council a new page has been added to the Animal Control Center section of American Fork’s website explaining the TNVR (Trap, Neuter, Vaccinate, Return) program. The page describes how residents may schedule appointments for cats to be taken to county services for spay/neuter and vaccinations; treated cats receive an ear tip and are returned to their original location.
Bunker said the program provides a humane population-control option for neighborhood cats and directs residents to www.americanfork.gov for additional information. Council Member Ryan Hunter expressed support for the program and said he hopes cost savings could be redirected to other city needs.
