Scarlett Graves moved to recommend the proposed zoning changes and Tim Alwine seconded; roll-call votes recorded by the commission showed unanimous support among members listed. The hearing preceding the vote included discussion about a trapezoidal parcel that commissioners debated leaving Industrial-1 versus rezoning to Agriculture-1. Staff advised agriculture zoning was most consistent with surrounding land use. During public comment resident Tori Pindell said, “If so, I would support them being rezoned to Agriculture.”
The recommendation now goes to the Miami County Board of Commissioners for final action. No final decision by the Board was made at this meeting; the plan commission’s role was advisory. The commission adjourned its meeting at 7:10 p.m.
