Morgan County assessors briefed on modest increase to 2027 office budget

Chief Appraiser Robert Bailey briefed the Morgan County Board of Assessors on the draft 2027 Tax Assessor’s Department budget, reporting that the proposed total would increase from $133,518.00 to $143,422.00. Bailey told the board the increase was due to services the assessor’s office uses; no vote on the budget was recorded at the March 24 meeting.
The briefing was presented to the full board during new business; Chair Nicole Wasendorf and other members asked no follow-up questions in the minutes. The board will consider the item in future budget work as needed or at subsequent meetings.
