JPAC shifts meetings to Thursdays, outlines 2026 agenda priorities

Ted Knowlton, WFRC Deputy Director and Chief Planner, reviewed the purpose and history of the Joint Policy Advisory Committee and proposed a consistent agenda framework for 2026 that emphasizes updates to Utah’s Unified Transportation Plan and policy information affecting local, regional, state and federal transportation decisions. He asked members for input on additional topics they would like JPAC to address during the year.
Knowlton also announced a schedule change: JPAC meeting dates will move to Thursdays, with the next meetings set for June 4, Sept. 3 and Dec. 3, 2026. The committee discussed maintaining time horizons and recurring agenda items to ensure coordination across MPOs, UDOT, UTA and other partners. No formal vote was required for the schedule change; members were asked to update calendars and submit topic suggestions for upcoming meetings.
