The Bozrah Board of Selectmen voted unanimously July 21 to recommend a draft three-year Fire Department Service Contract to a Town Meeting.
First Selectman Glenn Pianka presented the draft agreement. The document included in the meeting packet sets annual payments of $130,000 in year one, $135,000 in year two and $140,000 in year three, and describes ambulance-billing revenue splits, equipment ownership and account reporting requirements.
Selectman Bill Ballinger moved to recommend the contract to a Town Meeting; Selectman Jeremy Tarasevich seconded and the motion carried unanimously. The board did not adopt the contract at the meeting; the recommendation sends the draft for consideration by the town electorate at a future Town Meeting.
The draft agreement (dated May 25, 2026) also spells out ambulance-billing distribution percentages over the contract term and requires joint approval for disbursements from an ambulance-replacement account. The board packet included the draft as an attachment for public review.
