County outlines dust-control schedule; residents must apply by end of April

Public Works Director Scott Kieffaber told the Board of County Commissioners that the county is adding segment 254 T-W back onto the dust-control list and expects to begin applications in May. He said residents 'have until the end of April to get their applications and payment turned in' if they want county-applied dust control.
Commissioner Keith Kelly asked whether residential or county roads would be prioritized and whether the roads were ready to receive treatment; Road Superintendent Joe Gardner said crews would have the roads ready. Kieffaber said the department will pull crews from tube work if needed to flag for dust control, and that crews and contractors will coordinate the timing. He also announced a department safety meeting Tuesday and KWORCC-provided flagging and Industrial Powered Truck training for staff.
The presentation included additional operations items discussed later in the meeting—fuel monitoring and equipment availability—and commissioners asked staff to follow up on monitoring access and recent refueling interruptions.
