AA Hoefert presented the rosters and told the commission DeSmet Emergency Rescue has a Stryker power cot available for purchase at $1,000; other repairs to the unit have been completed and the unit will be returned to service.
Hoefert reported a Wi‑Fi booster failed to provide service at Station II (Willow Lake) and requested a vehicle‑mounted cell phone signal booster that mounts to the ambulance and carries a 90‑day money‑back guarantee; the purchase at $629.99 was approved. The board also discussed whether employees should be paid when rigs are used for parades or public service events and determined those are public‑relations activities and employees will not be paid. Emergency Manager EM Lewis later confirmed AA Hoefert will obtain certification allowing him to teach HIPAA training to ambulance staff and local agencies.
