CCMC reports new physician, telehealth patient portal and nursing-home grant delay

Austin Gillard, chief executive officer of Clay County Memorial Hospital, told the Board that a new physician has been visiting Clay Center and is looking for housing ahead of a planned move. Gillard said CCMC will implement a patient portal that will serve as a telehealth platform to allow remote consultations and diagnoses, enabling more patients to stay in their homes for care.
Gillard also said the large nursing-home grant CCMC had pursued has a changed application date. He reported having contacted the Presbyterian Manor corporate office to explore interest in opening a second location in Clay Center. No award or decision was reported at the meeting.
