North Kingstown retains environmental counsel to review permits for Quonset projects

At the April 27 meeting the town solicitor and town manager announced that the town has retained Desitell & Browning, an environmental law firm, to evaluate permitting for the proposed Quonset facilities and to advise on potential administrative or court challenges.
Town Solicitor said the firm’s background includes experience with state environmental permitting and legislative committees. "They've already started working on this project," the solicitor told the council, and staff will work with the firm to gather documents and set a strategy that could include administrative appeals or litigation depending on what the technical and legal review finds.
Council members asked for a clearer budget estimate for legal work at an upcoming meeting. The town solicitor said an estimate and rate parameters would be provided to the council at the next meeting so members can assess potential costs.
