County to sign DHS transit subrecipient agreement with new contractor; no service changes expected

Staff said the agreement took effect Nov. 1 and is a one‑year agreement that automatically renews annually under DHS processes. "We signed today, if you will. And it it was effective 11/01, by the way, this off through DHS," the presenter said, and added that there is no change to local service operations anticipated.
The presenter described the change as a standard result of DHS competitive contracting that narrowed the number of statewide contractors; the county's role remains as subrecipient to administer and bill for trips and to continue transporting seniors per the contract terms. Commissioners asked clarifying questions and were told staff would sign the agreement and return details at the regular meeting.
The item will be placed on the evening agenda for formal ratification.
