Road supervisors report repairs, culvert backlog and LPESA recovery

Road Superintendent Perry Holmes told the Winn Parish Police Jury the parish is coping with heavy rain, washouts and recent equipment outages and repairs. Holmes credited the jury’s backing for his work with the Louisiana Parish Engineers and Supervisors Association (LPESA), saying he "took a group that was bankrupt and now they have about $85,000 in the bank." He also reported a grader and a bobtail truck required repairs and that culvert deliveries have arrived to address a backlog.
Assistant Road Superintendent Paul Hodnett updated the jury on active equipment maintenance: the side boom had been performing well but the bush hog attachment is in the shop and expected back by the end of the week; another drag-behind has been in for repairs for about a week. Hodnett said pothole patching proceeds "when weather permits," and jurors discussed preparing equipment for spring work.
