Heidi Beck, one of the summer‑school principals, told trustees the high‑school program ran four days per week, offered Edgenuity online courses and allowed students to recover up to 10 credits. Beck said the program included homeroom teachers, subject teachers, tutoring and daily communication logs for families. "80% of our students were able to recover credit or improve their grades, which was up 40% from last year," she reported.
Beck said the program held its first-ever summer-school graduation for three students who completed course requirements for graduation, and described peer tutoring and incentives used to boost attendance. Trustees discussed lessons learned, including clarifying attendance expectations for students who start courses mid‑season and continuing peer-tutoring supports.
