Following a closed-session meeting on labor negotiations and existing litigation, the Lakeside Union Board reconvened and reported no action on ongoing labor negotiations with the California School Employees Association (CSEA) Chapter 240 or with the Lakeside Teachers Association. The board did, however, unanimously deny the CSEA grievance initiated July 10, 2023; the motion was recorded as carried 5-0 (Ayes: Bennett, Ellenson, Hayes, Hoefer Moir, Kasper).
President Andrew Hayes had opened the meeting and noted the board would return to closed session at the end of the public proceedings. The board reported the denial during the public reconvening and provided no further details about the grievance in open session. The minutes state no other closed-session actions were taken.
