Several agenda items were pulled for separate consideration Sept. 12. President Andrew Hayes led discussion and the board adopted the 2024-25 Board Goals; however, procurement-related items were tabled. The proposed termination of the Gold Star Foods contract (previously awarded under RFQ 2024-08F) due to poor-quality produce and delivery shortages was tabled while an MOU is pursued.
Also tabled was the recommended award to American Produce (the second lowest responsible bidder under RFQ 2024-08F, listed at $100,000 for 2024-25) until an MOU can be arranged. Trustees also tabled adoption of Resolution 2025-03, which would have expressed support for Proposition 2: a public education facilities bond measure; President Hayes asked staff to return the resolution for further review at a future meeting.
The board adopted its 2024-25 goals in the same section of the agenda and recorded that motion as carried unanimously 5-0.
