Board members raised concerns about proposed cement silos planned near Lakeside Farms Elementary during a discussion on Aug. 8. Member Ron Kasper noted the silos’ proximity to the school and described parents’ concerns; Superintendent Dr. Rhonda L. Taylor said the District has provided parents with information and encouraged them to submit complaints and concerns to the appropriate agencies.
President Andrew Hayes asked trustees to forward questions to him so the District could submit a letter to the Air Pollution Control District on the Board’s behalf. The Board did not take formal action beyond directing staff to collect questions and prepare the letter; no vote or formal regulatory finding was recorded in the minutes.
