Employment & Training Director Kelly King reported the department completed internal monitoring of WIOA Adult, Dislocated Worker and Youth records for program year 2024 Q4 and led an LPN Scholarship Workshop on July 28 that will fund eight students for the 2025–2026 class (five adults, one dislocated worker and two youth). King said 11 training applications are pending for programs including LPN, CDL and Clinical Medical Assistant training and the department served 411 customers in person during July.
King highlighted outcomes for the previous LPN cohort: six students completed Practical Nursing training with four reporting passing the NCLEX and four reporting employment as of July 31; staff are also planning to submit proposals for youth leadership/workforce events and are awaiting a YEP award to continue year-round wraparound youth programming.
