Kelly King, Director of Employment & Training, reported that program staff served approximately 409 individuals during the reporting month and noted that Cayuga County exceeds NYS Department of Labor PY24 performance benchmarks for measurable skills gains and credential attainment.
King said the WIOA financial management review for program year 2023 completed with no findings, and the county prepared preliminary WIOA budgets for approval. The Youth Employment Program served roughly 58 youth through June 30 and staff expect about 75 youth in the Summer Youth Employment Program, the highest enrollment since before 2020. King also described individual success stories of residents supported into training and employment.
