Parks update: NBRC grant unsuccessful for Deauville bridge; county to debrief and pursue alternative funding

Parks & Trails Director Doug DelloStritto told the committee the department was not awarded the NBRC grant for Deauville Island playground improvements and the heavy‑vehicle bridge replacement. Staff plan to meet NBRC for a debrief to learn how to strengthen future applications.
DelloStritto also described ongoing Emerson Park projects: repairs to a county water main, electrical work to power the Sheriff's marine unit slip, procurement/testing of an integrated reservations system (including credit card integration), and design work on the Merry‑Go‑Round Theater roof repair and pavilion HVAC control replacement. Seasonal staffing for parks has been filled and the Friends groups continue fundraising and sponsorships for park events.
